Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. And the Vintage Christmas red and greens are the colors that I love the most. This shawl gives me all of the wonderful vintage vibes.
Working half the shawl in green and then half the shawl in red, you will work from side to side making both the edging and the main field at the same time. Once that is done, a touch of surface crochet in gold finishes off the piece.

The edging of Utsalady Point (pronounced its-a-ladee) reminds us of ships’ masts, and tall ships that used to moor just off of Utsalady Bay in the 19th century. The point is now a beautiful community of beach houses off of Camano Island overlooking the bay.
Utsalady Point is worked side to side, both main field and edging all in one piece, including color changes. At the end of the shawl, you only have 4 ends to weave in. Primarily made with double crochet, the edge includes the taller triple crochet with a few singles and chain spaces to boot.
