“Never say die” is one of the most iconic lines from the classic movie “The Goonies.” Inspired by this adventurous tale, the yarn colors for this shawl pattern capture the spirit of the film.
The name “Never Say Die” and the main color of the shawl pay homage to this memorable phrase, while the design incorporates symbolism from the movie.
The pattern features a basic Granny Ripple stitch, reminiscent of arrows on a treasure map. It is easy to memorize and allows each mini-skein color to shine. Unlike the Goonies’ challenges, this shawl is easy to create and a joy to wear.

Originally designed as the featured crochet pattern for the Forbidden Fiber Co.’s Halloween Kit 2022, Eastwick is an amazing chevron shawl that is perfect for those mini skeins you have in your stash. After a few setup rows, you will just keep going with a simple 2-row repeat until the very end. This makes it a great stash-busting project, or even a great way to use up those leftover balls of yarn from other projects. You can keep using the repeat until it is the width and length you desire!

Spooky Web is a fun to make and wear side-to-side shawl. The lacy edging, reminiscent of spiderweb lace, is made at the same time as the main shawl. When you are done, you only have a couple of ends to weave in.
The best part of this shawl is that the width can be lengthened or shortened just by adding or subtracting 8-row repeats. Plus – it can be made with anything from solids to variegated – and even speckles and gradients too!

Changing Seasons is a beautiful two-color shawl worked from side to side. With a simple main field and a filet crochet style edging, this shawl is perfect for any time of day – morning, noon, or evening. Use a speckle and a solid as seen in the sample, or change it up using gradients, single colors, or even stripes. Make it the way you like it!
In working the shawl, you will learn how to change the color mid-row, every row, without having to cut and weave in ends. You will even learn the trick to hide the strand of yarn that moves up the middle of the fabric.

Beautifully simple. Simply elegant. Ambient is a side-to-side shawl with a half double crochet main field and a simple yet elegant edge. While fabulous in a tonal colorway, it would really shine in a gradient or long-striping yarn too. The mood is fashionable and wearable, morning, noon, and night.

Halloween, or All Hallow’s Eve as I prefer to call it, is actually a favorite day of mine. I have always gravitated to the fun side of Halloween rather than the scary. And in that vein is how I designed the All Hallow’s Eve shawl.
Worked with 13 mini skeins of yarn exclusively for the Forbidden Fiber Co.’s Halloween Mystery Kit 2021, this works up with easy stitches first and gradually makes its way to a simple yet engaging lace, and is finished off with a shell edging. It works up fast, and before you know it, its ready for a night or trick or treating.

Soft and flirty, the End of Summer shawl is a fast-growing triangular wrap. Each section builds on the previous one to challenge the beginning crocheter with new stitch patterns but yet keep the advanced crocheter engaged. Use lace-weight yarn for the summer-to-fall transition but the pattern lends itself to using fingering weight as well for a bit warmer wrap.

I might be giving away my age, but when I think of the “Queen of Hearts” I come up with two images in my head: Tom Petty’s music video for Don’t Come Around Here No More and the lyrics from Juice Newton’s song, Queen of Hearts. Along with Carroll’s notorious character, to me, the Queen of Hearts has always meant “Don’t mess with me.”
A generously sized shawl with a shape that flatters any figure, Queen of Hearts starts with bands of double crochet clusters that create the image of a chess board, where the queen is hunted. But the shawl ends with an explosion of heart lace that boldly proclaims – don’t mess with this “Queen”!

Soiree is a shawl light enough for spring and summer and elegant enough for holiday parties. Undulating waves of shells and post stitches create a lacy look while giving the top edge shaping to sit on your shoulders without falling off. This shaping also allows for the shawl to be worn a variety of ways. The best part? You can lengthen it or shorten it just by adding or removing any number of two-row repeats. It’s the perfect wrap!
