Beaded Bling \ Karen Whooley

Who knew crocheted jewelry could be so fun? Using Karen’s
tubular method of making beaded ropes, you’ll learn how all of her
tips and tricks! Learn how to keep the beginning tight, how to
keep from seeing the crochet stitches through the beads, learn
how to create patterns with color, how different sizes and shapes
of beads can change the overall look and texture, and a whole lot
more. We guarantee that you will be addicted once you start!

Appropriate student skill level and required skills:
Intermediate at the minimum. Students must know how to chain, slip stitch and single crochet. Students also must be comfortable with threads and smaller hook sizes.

Student supplies:
Size 6 steel hook (1.6 mm) or something close to that size. Also an US Size H/8
(5.0 mm) is helpful to learn with the included worsted weight yarn and pony beads.

Materials Fee:
$45 for a kit that includes, thread, beads, beading needle, bracelet findings, worsted weight yarn with pre-threaded pony beads and more.

Homework: None

Teaching supplies that need to be provided by the shop/event: Power, a power cart and a
screen to project on. A White Board or easel with paper and markers would be helpful.

Classroom setup: For larger events: tables for students should be in a classroom format. I will also
need 2 tables one at the center front and one somewhere up front as well to hold samples, handouts
and supplies.

For shops or guilds with small spaces: Whatever works best in your space I can make do with for the
student work area. I would, however, appreciate an extra table for samples, supplies, and handouts.

Number of Students MAXIMUM: 15
