This is something I don’t do that often, but…

Many of you know that I love to read! Last year I read 147 books! I read books across all genres and some of my favorite authors are Sandra Brown, Nora Roberts, Kat Martin, Diana Palmer, Debbie Macomber, JA Jance, Diana Gabaldon, and Barbara Freethy.

What you probably don’t know is that I am part of Barbara Freethy’s Review Team. I was just given an Advance Review Copy (ARC) of her new book, All The Pretty People to review. I finished it in less than 6 hours.

Barbara is more of a light romance author. You might know her series “The Calloways” or her FBI series. But this book is her first foray into Mystery Thrillers. And that is my JAM!

I learned to love mystery thrillers 20 years or more ago when I discovered JA Jance and her Beaumont Series. Since then I have devoured every single one of her books, including the other 2 series she started since learning about her. However, since I was in college, I loved a good light historical romance and some contemporary ones too. I love Sandra Brown’s thrillers, Nora Roberts’ stand-alone thrillers, and even Kat Martin whom I found in historical romance first, has started to write some thrillers that are heavy on romance, but still good. And that is how I found Barbara Freethy. I loved her books, and when I had the opportunity to apply to be on her review team I jumped at the chance. I have been reviewing her novels for the last 2 to 3 years now.

I was so excited when she said she was going to try her hand at a mystery thriller. And BOY I am NOT disappointed! I have done an advance review on GoodReads and I need to tell you that I wish I could give this book 25 stars.

Here’s the review.

All The Pretty PeopleAll The Pretty People by Barbara Freethy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was AMAZING. I read it in just under 6 hours because I just could not put it down. I really hope Barbara writes more of these Mystery Thrillers because I love this genre and I felt this was on par with Sandra Brown and Nora Roberts in keeping my attention. It was so well written and the plot twist was something I never even saw coming.

Seriously though, you need to read this book. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of her series. But IMHO this was even better!

I try not to have spoilers in my reviews, so if you want to know something about the plot, check out the book on Amazon.

I don’t usually review books here that aren’t crochet-related, but this book was so good I had to share it with you! All The Pretty People officially releases on February 8, 2022, but you can preorder on Amazon now!
