Working in a flat piece then seaming up the back and then cinching up the top, this hat is truly the easiest hat you will ever make. You’ll learn a new stitch that makes the fabric super cushy and warm and because of how the stitches are made, the seam will be invisible to the outside. Pick you favorite solid, tonal, gradient or speckled yarn – the stitch will make the most of every look! This will truly become YOUR Favorite Hat.
Recommended Yarn
My Favorite Hat was designed in Emma’s Yarn Simply Spectacular DK. However, you may use any DK weight yarn that will get gauge.
My Favorite Hat is very versatile and lends itself to semi-solids/solids, variegated, and gradients too. Don’t be afraid to try out a color scheme you prefer!
Techniques and Difficulty
My Favorite Hat incorporates the following crochet techniques:
- Basic stitches (chain, single crochet)
- Intermediate stitches (foundation single crochet)
Construction
My Favorite Hat is worked flat in one piece. This allows you to create the size you need. Also, the seam is invisible due to the nature of the stitch pattern
Customization
My Favorite Hat can be adjusted in length by adding more more or less stitches to the circumference and by adding or decreasing rows to the length.
If you would rather use a different weight of yarn, I recommend weights from fingering to worsted.
