New Pattern Coming: Morning Sunrise

Morning Sunrise reminds me of the colors that I see every morning during sunrise here in the Pacific Northwest. With a simple main body with a “sunrise” lace edging, you will absolutely love how fast this shawl grows! The 16-row side-to-side repeats might seem daunting, you’ll actually love how fast it moves. (and only you and I will know how easy it actually is!) What color will your Morning Sunrise be?
This pattern is written in US terminology.
Recommended Yarn
Morning Sunrise was designed in Sweet Mountain Crafts Scree Sock. However, any fingering weight yarn that has a lot of drape can be used.
Techniques and Difficulty
Morning Sunrise incorporates the following crochet techniques:
- Basic stitches (chain, single crochet, double crochet)
- intermediate stitches (dc2tog, picot)
Construction
Morning Sunrise is a side-to-side shawl that allows you to make both the main field and the edging at the same time. I love this construction type because when you finish the shawl, all you have to do is weave in ends and block. Also if you have a limited amount of yarn, you can easily see how fast the yarn is being used up and it will allow you to easily customize if you think you won’t have enough yarn to finish. (see next point)
Customization
You can adjust the width of Sunset by adding/subtracting a multiple of 12 increase-rows and then adding/subtracting the same number of the multiple of 12 decrease-rows.
