New Pattern Coming: Consequential
Consequential is one of my favorite shawls ever. Made from side to side with a deep lace edge, it is long and cozy – perfect to wrap up in. Worked with an easy-to-memorize six-row repeat, you can make the shawl as long and deep as you wish just by adding or subtracting repeats. Consequential is so versatile that you will want to wear it everywhere. Make this simply elegant shawl in different colors, lengths,
and yarn weights for just about every occasion.
This pattern is written in US terminology.
Recommended Yarn
Consequential was designed in Sock Obsession Yarns 4-ply Smooth Sock. However, any fingering weight yarn that has a lot of drape can be used.
Techniques and Difficulty
Consequential incorporates the following crochet techniques:
- Basic stitches (chain, single crochet, double crochet)
Construction
Consequential is a side-to-side shawl that allows you to make both the main field and the edging at the same time. I love this construction type because when you finish the shawl, all you have to do is weave in ends and block. Also if you have a limited amount of yarn, you can easily see how fast the yarn is being used up and it will allow you to easily customize if you think you won’t have enough yarn to finish. (see next point)
Customization
You can adjust the width of Consequential by adding/subtracting a multiple of 6 increase rows then adding/subtracting the same number of the multiple of 6 decrease rows.
