B) There are a total of 8 hearts on each row

C) Row 11: Sc in next 10 sc, puff st (see special stitches) in next sc, (sc in next 13 sc, puff st in next sc) 7 times, sc in last 10 sc, ch 1 turn)

D) Rows 13, 15, 17, 21, 25 should all read 7 times after the puff stitch information in the parenthesis.

I Can’t Believe I’m Crocheting Socks – Measurements

If you are struggling with making socks from the book, I want to offer you an alternative to how to measure. It is my recommendation that you measure your foot this way:

Measure footIn order to truly make your sock fit, there are several measurements you need to take. Make sure you are standing for all of these, except for “D”

A.      Circumference of your leg – This it the top most part of the sock and usually the thickest part of your leg

B.       Height of leg – From where you measured at A to the floor

C.      Length of your foot – Measure from the tip of your longest toe to the back of your heel.

D.      Circumference of your foot – Measure the ball of the foot where your foot is the thickest.

The actual finished sock will be approximately ¼ to ½ inch narrower than this measurement The ankle measurement in the book will help for those with thicker ankles, but if you work the socks using the measurement taken in “D” for Toe up, and A & D for cuff down, you should not have ANY issues with constructing your sock!
